Do I need to machine brake drums when relining brake shoes?
Yes. For maximum lifespan and performance, we recommend machining the brake drum first and then relining the brake shoes to match. This ensures optimal component wear, restores the correct coefficient of friction, and delivers the best braking efficiency and value.
My flywheel looks fine , do I still need it machined?
Most likely, yes. Flywheel wear is often not visible to the eye. Due to tight tolerances, proper inspection and resurfacing are essential to ensure smooth clutch engagement and long-term
reliability.
How long does it take to machine and reline a set of brake drums and shoes?
Our standard turnaround time is approximately 45 minutes, depending on workshop production levels at the time.
What is the fastest way to have my vehicle’s brakes overhauled?
